Save A Heart teams up with CN to Strengthen Employee Safety and Cardiac Emergency Preparednness
CN's Work Equipment Team & Save A Heart | By Cassandra Gates, President, Save A Heart

In industries where teams operate in remote environments and high-risk conditions, preparedness isn’t optional, it’s essential. That’s exactly why CN’s Work Equipment team has collaborated with Save A Heart, taking a proactive step toward improving cardiac emergency readiness in the workplace.
In speaking with Shean Redman Jr., Supervisor, Work Equipment at CN, it became clear that this collaboration is rooted in something deeper than just safety protocols, it’s about people.
“My team chose Save A Heart because it aligns directly with CN’s commitment to employee safety, emergency preparedness, and looking out for one another both on and off the job,” Redman shared. “In our industry, our teams often work in remote areas, on long shifts, and in environments where immediate medical assistance may not always be seconds away.”
That reality makes access to simple, immediate tools critical. Redman recognized the value of equipping employees with a portable, easy-to-use solution that could make a life-saving difference in the event of a cardiac emergency.
“The fact that Save A Heart was built around preparedness and saving lives strongly resonated with our organization’s safety culture,” he added. The decision to distribute Save A Heart products was further reinforced by a real-life experience within their team.
“We had an emergency after an employee’s shift where they suffered a heart attack once they arrived home, and taking aspirin as soon as they could is said to have saved their life,” Redman explained.
“These keychains were provided not simply as a giveaway, but as a symbol that every employee’s life matters,” he said. “Whether our employees are on a production gang, travelling between work locations, or at home with family, the keychain offers peace of mind knowing they have immediate access to emergency aid.”
At Save A Heart, we are proud to work alongside groups like CN’s Work Equipment team that are committed to creating real impact not just through policy, but through action, because preparedness doesn’t stop when the workday ends.
